Yesterday we went to the zoo. I don’t know if you read about our last visit to the zoo, but this trip started out pretty much the same way. Badly.
It took us two hours to drive thirty minutes away and find parking. Again. We actually watched them close several lots before we could drive into them. Oh, and thunderclouds started gathering. Again.
Nevertheless, we made it, and saw the monkeys, the cows, a tiger, some sheep, and a really obese rabbit that was literally bigger than Adeia. After all the sights, and the smell of the pig in the Farm section, we were tired out. We ate some dinner, went home, and after dumping Adeia into her crib, we fell asleep in our clothes with all the lights on.
This made it really easy to see a few hours later when Adeia woke up screaming. She had 103.4, and was kind of upset about it. (I blame the monkeys – they’re unhygienic) Naturally, we comforted her with tylenol and movies at 1 AM. Then we put her to bed. Then she woke up again. Then we put her to bed. Then she woke up again. Then we put her to bed again.
Anyway, I think the highlight of the night (apart from watching “Little Einsteins” three times in a row) was when we let her ’sleep’ in our bed. Shortly after lying down, she became delirious and started having conversations with an imaginary person.
Adeia: EEEEEEHHIH!!!! nonono! das my!
(pause)
Adeia: Pweese?
(pause)
Adeia: oh, ka kow! (ka kow = thank you)
(pause)
Adeia: Jiwannow go? Bye.
I hope you got more sleep than we did…..and I hope you watched far less children’s programming. Stay away from zoos.
First off, I am SO SORRY your little one got sick. I feel for her, and for you guys. Fevers and uninterrupted sleep sounds like the pits.
Secondly, what was she doing with the monkey’s that she contracted monkey fever? Were they sharing snacks?
Thirdly, I kinda giggled when I noticed that in the transcription of Adeia’s imaginary conversation, she still didn’t say “mama.” (unless we aren’t laughing about that, in which case, strike this section…)
Susan, props for all that going out driving, walking around and putting up with smells while pregnant. You rock.
Also, two hours to drive 30 minutes away?! WHY?!
I would also like an update on how unborn Tuma is doing.
That’s all.
Yikes. Hope she’s feeling better!! (And you guys, too.)
Adeia is at the doctor’s office right now because her fever has flared back up. If you guys could be praying for her we would all greatly appreciate it!
We definitely are! Poor little peanut, I hope she feels better.
