Its official – the Tumas’ sojourn in Albuquerque, NM is coming to an end.
Why? Well, its kind of long story – the most important reason is that the Lord has shown us that our season here is over, and that a new leg of our journey has begun.
Its not that we don’t like Albuquerque. ABQ is a cool town, unlike any other we have ever spent time in. We certainly aren’t leaving because we don’t like the people! Honestly, we have met some of the most incredible friends down here. The Shaffers, the Browns, the Taylors, the Billingsly’s (whose name I probably just butchered), the Caffeys, the Steins, the Kearneys, probably some others that I will remember just after I publish this post, and of course, Kenny and Rebecca Barela. We’ll miss you guys, and hopefully we will keep in touch for a long time.
Even though the thought of leaving our New Mexican friends is sad, and in some cases downright heartbreaking, we are excited to be able to spend some time with our family. Our daughter is in such a fun stage right now, and her grandparents and her many aunts and uncles need a chance to get to know her. Most of them haven’t seen her since she was three months old. She has grown up so much since then!
We don’t know how long we’ll be in Chicago. At this point we are considering it a temporary relocation – a season of rest and family. We have a few long-term options on the horizon, and we will keep everyone updated as we make our decisions.
So many changes! We are learning that sometimes following Jesus means packing light and keeping our ears open for new directions. We’ll miss you Albuquerque! May the Lord richly bless you all in the years to come.
Sad to leave the awesome Shaffers and other assorted ABQ people, but very very cool that you get to be with family again for a bit. Addie is pretty cool, they should get to hang out with her!!
When is the big move? Keep us updated on how you are doing? We are praying for you guys!
However long you stay, it will be wonderful to have you guys back in town. Aside from our 5 month KC stint, we sure missed you these last four years.
Thanks James,’ your prayers are always appreciated. Susan and the little ‘un are already in Chicago – we were going to be vacationing their for the holidays anyway. I am staying behind for a few days to pack, and then the dads are coming down to help me load up a big truck and drive the 24 or so hours it will take to get to Chi-town.
And Ryan, I forgot that you guys lived in KC for a while! What a funny thing to do…
I can’t wait for you to come down! Im so excited! :]
I wish that I could be around when you get there! But maybe you’ll just have to drive up with dad to meet me and pick up Pi. ^-^ See you next Wednesday, hopefully!
Wow! This is huge. We are heading back to the tundra that is the Midwest in about 4 weeks too. Hey, it will be really easy to send you some of Olivia’s clothes with you in the same state! Or will Addie be showered in clothes since she will be living near (with?) adoring grandparents?
We for one are glad you spent some time in New Mexico or we never would have met you. Blessings!
Hey Jesse! Yay for the Midwest! Hope all is well in Turkey… does it snow over there?
I’m sure Adeia will be showered with gifts, but if there’s anything you absolutely HAVE to get rid of, we can always help…. =) I like Olivia’s pigtails! So cute!
Yeah, we hear Olivia is talking up a storm – that’s got to be so much fun!
